Community Foodies: building and strengthening communities through local
people
There is a great deal of excitement about
food in the Mid North. Over the past 3 years, over 30 volunteers from the
Port Pirie, Port Broughton and Gladstone communities have been trained as
Community Foodies and they have all enjoyed the experience of becoming
Community Food Gurus!

Sticks and Stones Project
The Sticks and Stones project was a
participatory community project proposed and implemented by Matthew Rogers
and Chris Smith, final year Occupational Therapy students at the University
of South Australia. Sticks and Stones was implemented in partnership with
the Port Pirie Regional Health Service. The project was aimed at
understanding and developing strategies to address bullying in primary
schools in Pt Pirie and Peterborough.
