Port Pirie Regional Health Service Inc first opened in
1891, catering for the medical needs for a small population of
approximately 900.
With many changes along the way Port Pirie Regional Health Service now
offers modern, high quality health care to Port Pirie and the Mid North
Region.Port Pirie Regional Health Service employs in excess of 300 people who work
in comfortable well equipped facilities, providing health care to approximately
35,000 people.
The Health Service consists of 130 beds,
encompassing Acute Medical, High Dependency, Paediatric, Surgical,
Obstetric, Gerontic and Palliative Care and also offers the provision of Private rooms.
The Community and Allied Health Service Division provides an extensive
range of services to the Port Pirie Community and the Mid North Region
with a focus on primary health care and health promotion.
Port Pirie, a city of 15,000, is located two and a half hours drive
north of Adelaide. It is the largest centre within the Mid North and is
bounded on its western border by the Spencer Gulf, and on its eastern
border by the impressive Flinders Ranges.
